Description

Willow House, located at 16 New Hall, Longmoor Lane, Longmoor Lane, Liverpool, is a day centre constructed between 1887 and 1889, designed by Charles Lancaster. The building is constructed of common brick with red brick and stone dressings, and has a slate roof with tile cresting. It is a ten-bay structure, comprising a central two-bay block and two three-bay pavilions, linked by recessed two-bay connecting blocks. A sill band and impost course run over the window heads, and brick quoins define the windows.

The central block features a hipped roof with two gables displaying brick banding, diapering, and decorative barge boards. It contains paired segmental-headed windows with sashes and a central segmental-headed entrance with a recessed doorcase. The connecting blocks have two segmental-headed windows. The left pavilion has a projecting conservatory with Doric columns and a hipped roof. The right pavilion originally had two windows, one of which is now a door, and also exhibits gables with brick bands and timbering.
