Description
New Hall, located at 2 Longmoor Lane, is a house that is part of a cottage homes complex built between 1887 and 1889 by Charles Lancaster. The building is constructed of common brick, featuring red brick and stone dressings, and has a slate roof with tile cresting. It stands two storeys high and consists of eight bays, with the central six bays projecting under two timbered gables that have decorated barge boards. There are flush brick sill and lintel bands. The windows are sashed, with the second and third bays featuring a rectangular bay window topped with a hipped slate roof and a tripartite window. The end bays have paired windows. The entrance, located in the fourth bay, has a lintel and a brick segmental relieving arch, leading to a recessed, half-glazed doorcase. Additionally, the right side of the building includes a lean-to conservatory.
