Description

This is a house, part of a cottage homes complex, built between 1887 and 1889 by Charles Lancaster. It is constructed primarily of common brick with red brick and stone dressings, and has a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and comprises five bays, with two bays at each end projecting under gabled roofs featuring decorative barge boards. Running along the front are flush brick sill bands and impost courses that run above the segmental heads of the windows, which have flush brick quoins and sash windows. An entrance is marked by a half-glazed doorcase containing a door. Brick bands and cartouches decorate the gables. The long, plain side walls incorporate sash windows.
