Description

No. 22, New Hall, is a house built between 1887 and 1889 as part of a cottage homes complex. It was designed by Charles Lancaster. The house is constructed of common brick with red brick and stone dressings, covered by a slate roof. It is two stories tall and consists of five bays, with two bays at each end projecting under gabled roofs featuring decorative barge boards. The building has flush brick sill bands and impost courses that run over the segmental heads of the windows, which are fitted with sashed windows and have flush brick quoins. The entrance features a half-glazed doorcase with a door. The gables are embellished with brick bands and cartouches. The long, plain return walls have sashed windows.
