Description
38 and 40 Devonshire Road are two houses built in the 1850s. They are constructed of stucco and topped with a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and two bays. Notable features include sill courses and cornices with brackets at the top. The windows are framed with architraves and feature sashes without glazing bars. The second bays have canted bay windows on the ground floor, which are adorned with iron balustrading. Above these bay windows, there are tripartite sashes with a frieze and a consoled cornice. Both houses have Ionic porches and two-panel doors.
