Description

16 and 18 Southwood Road are two houses built in the 1830s. They are constructed of stucco and topped with a slate roof. Each house is two storeys high and has two bays, with recessed porch bays on the returns. There is a sill band at the first floor, along with a top bracketed frieze and cornice. The corners of the buildings feature quoins. The ground floor end bays have canted bay windows, and there is an iron loggia with five bays between them. The first floor windows are framed with architraves, and all windows are casements. Each house has a porch at the entrance; the porch for No. 16 includes glazed sides, while the porch for No. 18 has an iron support and decorative railings on the side.
