Description

This is a house, formerly known as The Nunnery, built before 1815 for the ironfounder John Cragg. It is a two-storey, two-bay building with projecting two-storey canted bays. The front elevation is now pebbledashed. A flat cornice runs along the top of the building, and the parapet of the canted bay is decorated with blind quatrefoils. The windows are iron casements, with the upper windows featuring diamond panes, and each has a label mould above. The right return side has a varied arrangement of windows, some of which are original iron casements.
