Description

Landskill Farmhouse is a house dating from 1692. It is built of pebbledashed rubble with sandstone dressings and has a slate roof. The house is two storeys high and originally had three bays. It features two drip courses. The windows are rebated and chamfered with mullions. The ground floor window on the left-hand side has three lights; immediately to its right is a blocked plain stone door surround. The ground floor window on the right-hand side has four lights. The first-floor windows comprise four, three, and five lights respectively. The central bay contains a door with a moulded surround and a shaped lintel inscribed "FSM [Francis & Martha Sherrington] 1692". Chimneys are situated on the gables, exhibiting weathered offsets and cornices. The interior includes plastered axial beams and two 17th-century oak doors.
