Description

Old Post Cottage is a house built in 1692. It features pebbledashed rubble and a slate roof. The structure has a three-cell plan, with the right-hand cell likely being a later addition. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The windows are mullioned, with rebate and chamfer details. All windows have three lights, except for the ground-floor window in the second bay, which has six lights. The door located between the first and second bays has a chamfered surround and a battlemented lintel inscribed with 'IWM 1692'. There is a second door with plain reveals to the left of the right-hand bay. The chimneys are located on the left-hand gable and between the second and third bays.
