Description
Middle Cottage is a house dated 1692, constructed of rubble with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and features four first-floor windows. A boarded door is located between the first and second bays. On either side of the door, there are 4-pane sash windows set in double-chamfered ashlar surrounds, with the chamfers stopping at the base. To the right, there is a fire window in a deeply-chamfered surround with a round-arched shouldered head. In the third and fourth bays, there are additional 4-pane sash windows in stopped double-chamfered surrounds, which include a nib for a central mullion. On the first floor, two 4-pane sash windows are also found in stopped double-chamfered ashlar surrounds with a nib. To the right, there is another fire window in a deeply-chamfered surround. In the third and fourth bays, there are more 4-pane sash windows in stopped double-chamfered surrounds with nibs, and between these windows is a plaque bordered with bead moulding, inscribed "F C 1692". The house has end stacks.
