Description
Crossgill Farmhouse is a house built in 1681. It features pebbledashed rubble walls and a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays. The windows have rebated and chamfered surrounds, with the mullions removed, except for the left-hand window on the first floor, which originally had three lights and now retains one mullion. The central bay contains a door with a chamfered surround and a battlemented lintel inscribed with 'BMR 1681'. A continuous drip course runs above the door, and there is a blank niche above it with a frame of similar design. The house has end chimneys, and the interior includes chamfered main ceiling joists.
