Description

Hawes House is a mid-18th century house constructed from sandstone rubble and topped with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and features three bays. A straight joint indicates that the left-hand bay was added later. The windows have flush chamfered mullions and are generally of two lights, except for the central bay on the ground floor, which has three lights. To the right of the second bay on the ground floor, there is a two-light window where the door used to be located; the door has since been moved to the third bay and has a plain stone surround. The house has chimneys located on the gables and between the first and second bays.
