Description
Pott Yeats Farmhouse is a house from the late 17th century that was altered in the 19th century. It is built of sandstone rubble and has a stone slate roof, featuring a T-plan layout. The front, which faces north, has two bays and two storeys with attics. The windows are sashed with glazing bars and have plain stone surrounds. The central door has a chamfered surround and is topped with a hood supported by brackets. Above the door, there is a blocked chamfered window surround, and other blocked openings can also be seen. To the right of the main section, beyond a straight joint, there is an additional cell with a window that has a plain stone surround. Above this window is a blocked mullioned window typical of the 18th century. The gables have copings with kneelers, and there are gable chimneys, with the left-hand chimney projecting at first-floor level on stone corbels. This gable features two one-light chamfered attic windows, one of which is blocked. The rear wing has a gable chimney with a weathered offset and a cap that has been rebuilt in brick. To the west, parallel to the front range, is a wing dated 'F 1856'. Inside, the rear wing has exposed chamfered main joists, with one possibly being a firehood bressummer. Other rooms were not accessible at the time of the survey.
