Description

Ravenscar Farmhouse and its associated farm buildings date from the late 17th century and have been altered over time. The structure is built from pebbledashed rubble and topped with a stone slate roof, rising to two storeys. The east wall features two projecting single-storey wings. The right wing has one bay with windows that have rendered chamfered surrounds. Between the wings, there is a modern glazed porch. On the first floor, there is another window with a rendered chamfered surround. Inside the porch, there is a rebated and chamfered window with two remaining mullions. The right-hand gabled wing contains the original front door, which has a chamfered surround and an embattled lintel that is partly covered and inscribed with 'W?H'. The left-hand gabled wing features a window with plain reveals and a chimney. The building has end chimneys.

Adjoining the farmhouse to the left (south) is a barn that includes a shippon door at the far left with plain reveals, and a wide entrance to its right that has a timber lintel, with a canopy formed by the continuation of the roof from the wider shippon end. The gable of the barn has coping with kneelers. Inside the barn, there are two hardwood trusses with tie beams and collars. The barn on the right has a wide entrance with plain reveals and an external sliding door, along with another door that has plain reveals. The gable of this barn also features coping with kneelers. The interior of the farmhouse was not inspected.
