Description

Old Hall Farmhouse is a house built in 1685, constructed from slobbered rubble with a stone slate roof. It has two storeys and features a continuous drip course over both the ground and first floors. The left part of the facade includes two sashed windows with glazing bars on the first floor, set in rebated and chamfered surrounds. On the ground floor, there are two windows; the left one is fixed with glazing bars and has a rebated and chamfered surround, while the right one is a mullioned window with two lights and ovolo-moulding.

To the right of each window, there are doorways. The left-hand doorway has been glazed to form a window and features a chamfer that continues upwards to create an ogee shape on the lintel. The right-hand doorway is cyma-moulded and has a shaped lintel dated '1685', although the initials have been removed. Further to the right is another bay with sashed windows with glazing bars and plain stone surrounds. At the far right, there is a similar window on the first floor and a tripartite window below, which is also sashed with glazing bars and has a plain stone surround with square mullions. The doorway to the left has a plain stone surround.

Chimneys are located on the gables and to the left of the right-hand bay. The interior is said to have exposed main ceiling joists. The house has an unusual plan for the area, which suggests it would benefit from further investigation.
