Description
5 Sunny Bank is a house built in 1717, with some alterations. It is constructed from sandstone rubble and has a tile roof, featuring two storeys. The south gable wall has one bay with modern windows that have plain reveals and glazing bars. To the left, there is a door with plain reveals beneath a glazed porch. The east wall has a section of drip course towards the right, beneath which is a two-light window with a chamfered surround and a timber-restored mullion. On the first floor, there are two similar windows. Further left, at an intermediate level, is a one-light chamfered window. The drip course continues on the north gable wall, rising over a door lintel. To the right, there is a three-light chamfered window with restored mullions, and above it on the first floor is a modern window with plain reveals. The door features a cyma-moulded surround with a battlemented lintel inscribed with 'HG 1717'. There are chimneys on the gables.
