Description

Lowgill Hall is a house dating to 1692, with alterations made subsequently. It is constructed of pebbledashed rubble with a stone slate roof. The house has two storeys and two bays. Windows have chamfered surrounds; one mullion remains in each except for the right-hand one on the first floor, which has none. The left-hand first-floor surround is rebated and chamfered. The front door, situated between the bays, has a cyma-moulded surround with a lintel inscribed 'MTA 1692'. Gable chimneys are present. A chamfered doorway with a lintel inscribed 'ANO 1653 DOMNI' has been re-set into a rear wing.
