Description

This small barn, located approximately 2 metres south of Bounty Farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century and has been enlarged and altered over time. It is constructed of coursed thin sandstone rubble and features a stone slate roof. The barn consists of three bays, with a lean-to addition at the front of the third bay, and a stable and shippon added to the rear. The east front has a full-height wagon doorway in the center, fitted with board doors, and there are blocked slit breathers at two levels. Both gables indicate the outline of a former, more steeply-pitched roof. At the rear, a stable is attached to the north bay and a shippon to the south bay, both covered by catslide roofs, which together create a porch for the rear wagon doorway. Inside, there are two collar trusses with added dorsals. This barn forms a group with Bounty Farmhouse, located approximately 2 metres to the north.
