Row of 3 cottages. Probably later C18; altered. Coursed squared sandstone, composition tile roof. Linear plan, facing the road and backing onto the farmyard of Lower Balcony Farm; that at the south end double-fronted and the others single-fronted. Two low storeys, 2+1+1 windows; square-headed doorways, those at Nos 42 & 43 adjoining and that at No.44 between the windows, all with rectangular lintels and board doors; square 2-light casement windows with moulded jambs. One ridge chimney. Forms group with Lower Balcony Farmhouse (qv), shippon range to right (qv), barn at north end of yard (qv), and coach house/cart shed range on west side of yard (qv).
