Description

This barn, located approximately 50 metres south-west of Lower Hill Farmhouse, likely dates from around 1700. It is constructed from roughly coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features a stone slate roof with stone gable copings. The barn consists of four bays, with some breathers that have been blocked. The first bay has a plain door, the second bay includes a wagon entrance complete with a canopy, cheeks, and a wooden lintel, while the third bay has been altered to include a large rectangular opening. The rear of the barn has a substantial lean-to extension. Inside, there is a principal rafter roof supported by collars.
