Description
Lower Crow Trees is a farmhouse dating from the 17th century, now functioning as a house. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins and features a slate roof with gable chimneys. The building has an L-shaped plan with two bays and a projecting gabled wing on the first bay. It stands two storeys tall.
On the left side of the wing, there is a moulded doorway with a modern door. All the windows on the front wall have chamfered surrounds and hollow-moulded mullions. In the wing, there is a 4-light window with a hoodmould at the ground floor, and above it, there are 4- and 2-light windows under a single hoodmould at the first floor. To the right, there is a 4-light window and a restored 2-light firewindow under one hoodmould at the ground floor, along with a 3-light window above. The left, right, and rear walls have various altered openings, and the ground floor of the rear is mostly concealed by a large single-storey lean-to. The interior has been modernised.
