4/63 Higher Crow Trees - GV II

Farmhouse, C17, altered, now house. Sandstone rubble with some quoins, slate roof (slightly higher at left end), gable chimneys. Four bays and 2 storeys. First bay, which projects slightly, said to have been shippon, has large lintel of former doorway and modern windows; 4th bay, now cut down as single storey lean-to, has old chamfered doorway with hoodmould, a round-headed lancet to the right of this lettered "I" "M" on the head (possibly ex situ), and inserted window above; centre bays have inserted door to the left and 3 double-chamfered stone mullion windows: at ground floor 4 lights (lacking 2 mullions) with a hoodmould, at 1st floor 3 and 3 lights, both now casements, with only one mullion remaining. Rear has long lean-to extension to 2nd bay, a large 6-light king-mullion window (all other mullions lacking) with a hoodmould to the 3rd bay, with a blocked former firewindow left of it; and a 2-light window to 4th bay. Interior altered.
