Description
This barn, located approximately 5 metres south of Low Haygarth Farmhouse, likely dates from the early 18th century. It is constructed from roughly coursed boulderstones and rubble, featuring quoins and a stone slate roof. The barn has three structural bays arranged on an east-west axis and faces north. It includes slit-breathers and wagon doorways in the first and third bays. The first doorway has a timber lintel and is protected by a shallow lean-to porch with a similar lintel, while the third doorway features rubble voussoirs and a keystone. There is a small lean-to stable attached to the west gable wall. Inside, the barn has a queen-strut roof. This building forms a good group with Low Haygarth Farmhouse.
