Description
29 and 31 Tontine Road is a pair of cottages that have been converted into a single dwelling. They date from the late 18th century and have been altered over time. The building is constructed of coursed squared sandstone and features a felted stone slate roof with brick chimneys. It has a single-depth, two-unit plan and stands two low storeys high, with one window on the first floor and two on the second. The doorways are located on the right and have plain surrounds. No. 29 has one square window on each floor, while No. 31 features a three-light casement window at ground level, a similar square window above it, and an inserted window above the door. There is a ridge chimney in the center and a gable chimney to the left. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 25 and 27 to the left, as well as Nos. 15 and 17, and Nos. 19-23 nearby.
