Description

This is a row of three cottages located at 19, 21, and 23 Tontine Road, probably built around 1800 and later altered. The cottages are constructed from coursed squared sandstone and feature a felted slate roof with brick chimneys. They have a double-depth plan, with each cottage being single-fronted and having various 20th-century extensions at the back.

The cottages are two stories high and have one window each on the ground and first floors. The doorways are positioned to the left and have thin lintels with 20th-century doors. The ground floor features square windows with thin flush sills and lintels, while the eaves have oblong windows, all fitted with small-paned 20th-century joinery. There is a gable chimney on the right and two ridge chimneys, all made of early 20th-century brick.

These cottages form a group with Nos 15 and 17 to the left, Nos 25 and 27 to the right, and Nos 29 and 31 further along.
