Description
Folly Yard consists of a pair of small cottages, likely built in the late 18th century. They are constructed from mixed random rubble and topped with a slate roof. Each cottage has a single-depth plan and is single-fronted, featuring three low storeys with two plus one windows. The doorways are located to the right and left, each with renewed board doors.
No. 9 has a six-pane sash window on the ground floor, a 16-pane sash window on the first floor, and a small nine-pane fixed window on the second floor. No. 11 features a 16-pane hornless sash window on the ground floor, a similar window above it, and a 16-pane horned sash window to the left. On the second floor, there is an oblong 15-pane fixed window positioned between the eaves and the lintel of the right-hand window on the first floor. Most openings of No. 11 have large monolith lintels. Both cottages have ridge chimneys. The interior has not been inspected. This building forms a group with No. 7, which is adjacent to the right.
