Description
Prince Gate Farmhouse and the attached shippon date from the later 18th century and are under one roof. The building is constructed from watershot coursed sandstone with quoins, featuring a tiled roof with gable chimneys for the house and stone slates with a gable finial for the barn. The farmhouse has a double-depth, 2-bay plan and is two storeys high, with a symmetrical design. It includes a single-storey gabled porch with a plain doorway and a small side window, along with two stepped triple-light windows on each floor and an inserted window above the porch. The shippon to the left has a plain doorway in the centre, a blocked doorway at the left end, a small window at the right end, and a small square opening above the door. The interior of the house has been entirely renovated, with the original fabric replaced.
