Description
This is a farmhouse, likely dating from the early 18th century, and later renovated as a house. It is constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with quoins, and has a stone slate roof with gable chimneys. Originally, the farmhouse comprised three bays, though the first bay is now ruined. A projecting porch is situated at the junction of the second and third bays. The remaining two-storey section of the house is largely symmetrical. The central porch has a plain doorway, a small square window to the left, and a square window at the first floor. It is flanked by two stepped triple-light windows at ground floor – the left window has wider side lights – and by two stepped five-light windows at the first floor. The right-hand return wall has one window at the first floor, while the rear has one window at ground floor and three above, which are irregular in size and placement. The ruined first bay’s wall retaining two window openings at ground floor and one above. The interior has been largely reconstructed; however, fragments of a staircase and a corner chimney remain visible within the porch.
