Description

Geldard Laithe is a 17th century barn, marked with the inscription 'G E HH AD 1702' on a moulded plaque above the entrance. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and has a slate roof, being wider at the south-west end. The south-east wall features a wide opening with a chamfered segmental arch. At the left-hand end, there is a chamfered door surround that leads to the former shippon. The gables are topped with copings and kneelers. On the south-west gable wall, there is a chamfered door surround to the left and a chamfered ventilation slit. Inside, the barn has hardwood trusses with tie beams and short king posts that rise from collars.
