Description
Lower Pythorns Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid to late 19th century and the 20th century. It features limewashed watershot masonry and painted stone dressings, topped with a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and is divided into bays. The entrance on the left has a plain surround and a plank door. To the right, on both floors, there is a double chamfered three-light mullioned window, and on the upper floor to the left, a similar two-light window. The windows have two-pane casements and fixed lights. A ridge stack is located left of centre. The west gable is said to contain a blocked door with a decorated lintel inscribed with "WH IH 1689."
