Description

Green Beck House is an early 19th-century house constructed from coursed sandstone rubble with punched quoins and a slate roof. The building features a two-unit double-pile layout with a central entry and a third unit that was originally separate but built in the same style to the right. It stands two storeys high with attics and has three bays.

All windows and doors are framed with plain stone surrounds. On either side of the front door, there are sash windows with glazing bars, and above on the first floor, there are two similar sash windows. The third unit to the right has a fixed window with glazing bars and a door to its right, while the first floor features a large fixed window with glazing bars.

The house has a chimney on the left-hand gable and between the second and third bays, while the chimney on the right-hand gable is modern. The rear room of the right-hand unit retains its original entrance in the gable. Both gables have copings and kneelers. At the rear of the main house, there is a tall narrow stair window with small panes, and a first-floor doorway to the third unit is accessible via external stone steps.
