Description
The gatepiers and railings located north of Chain Lodge date from the early 19th century and mark the entrance to the former driveway leading to Quernmore Park. They are constructed from sandstone ashlar and feature cast iron railings. The driveway is flanked by two pairs of square gatepiers, each topped with a moulded cornice and a smaller square cap. Each pier has a frieze adorned with three raised roundels. On either side, a low curved wall topped with railings ends with a similar pier. The railings are decorated with elaborate cast iron finials.
