Description

The Eastern Railway Bridge over the River Lune at Crook of Lune is a former railway bridge built around 1880 for the Midland Railway. It features piers and abutments made of rock-faced sandstone blocks, along with iron arches and timber beams that support the deck. The bridge has five segmental iron arches, each adorned with iron roundels in the spandrels. The piers are rectangular in shape, rounded at the base, and the bridge is topped with a parapet made of iron latticework. Part of this bridge is located in Caton Parish.
