Description

The Western Railway Bridge over the River Lune at Crook of Lune is a former railway bridge built around 1880 for the Midland Railway. It features piers and abutments made of rock-faced sandstone blocks, and is supported by iron arches and timber beams. The bridge has six segmental iron arches that include iron roundels in the spandrels. The piers are rectangular in shape with rounded bases, and the parapet is constructed from iron latticework.
