Description
Moorgate Farmhouse is an early 19th-century farmhouse constructed of sandstone rubble with a slate roof. The building features a symmetrical front with stacks on the gables and between the first and second bays. It has two storeys and a cellar, with three bays that include tall plain stone window surrounds. The doorway, which likely dates from the 18th century and has been re-set, is accessed by five stone steps and features a shouldered architrave, fluted pilaster strips, moulded brackets, and a triangular pediment. At the rear, there is an outshut, and an external door to the cellar is located in the right-hand gable. Inside the right-hand cellar, there is a stone cheese press that retains its wooden runners and bracing.
