Description
This barn, located approximately 10 metres east of the farmhouse at Shepherd's Farm, dates back to 1709 and has been altered over time. It is constructed of brick with sandstone dressings and features a corrugated asbestos roof. The south wall includes a rubble plinth and three rows of paired ventilation slits. On the left side, there is a small blocked window with plain reveals. The right side of the wall projects forward and has a wide entrance with a timber lintel. The right-hand (east) gable contains a blocked doorway and a one-light window with plain reveals. The west wall showcases sandstone throughs and a blocked pitching hole with a plain stone surround. Above this is a plaque inscribed with 'TSF (?) 1709'. Inside, the barn features bolted king-post trusses, some made of hardwood.
