Description

This barn, likely built in the late 18th century, is located on the south side of the farmyard, approximately 40 metres south-southwest of the farmhouse. It is constructed of sandstone rubble and features a slate roof. The north-west wall, which faces the farmyard, includes a wide entrance with a segmental arched head on the left side. To the right, there are four blocked doorways with plain stone surrounds, which have been replaced by modern windows. Above these doorways is a pitching door also framed with plain stone. The ventilation slits in the wall have chamfered surrounds. The gables are topped with copings and footstones. On the right-hand gable wall, there are chamfered ventilation slits, a modern wide entrance with plain reveals, and a blocked pitching door above. The barn extends to the left with a lower roof level, featuring openings with plain stone surrounds and a gable with coping. Inside, the main barn has bolted queen post trusses.
