Description
This barn, located about 25 meters southeast of Top Farmhouse, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from coursed rubble stone and features a stone slate roof. The north side has a central projecting gabled cart entry with a plastered gable, a large timber lintel, and dressed stone quoins. There is a cambered arch at the level of the main wall, which is partially made of brick and has a stone keystone. A matching arch on the south side has been filled in, and there is no evidence of a gabled entry beyond it. The roof timbers have been restored and the barn consists of six bays with collar and tie beams. There is a square pitch hole at the west end, a small light in the southwest corner, and a square opening on the north side to the east.
