Description
These are a pair of semi-detached cottages located on Old Vicarage Lane in Kemble. They were built separately in the early to mid-18th century. Number 127 appears to be the earlier of the two. The cottages are constructed of coursed rubble stone, with thatched roofs and stone end stacks. They are arranged in a single range of two storeys. Each cottage has four windows; each floor has two paired wooden casements. On the ground floor of Number 126, there is a three-light casement with a large, flush stone lintel to the left, and a boarded door with a corrugated gabled hood supported by struts. Number 127 has a central boarded door flanked by paired casements. The quoins on Number 127 mark the original outer edge of the building.
