Description

A barn and former stable dating from the early to mid-19th century, situated in the garden of The Pigeon House. The building is constructed of random coursed rubble stone with a stone slate roof. The stable section, to the left, projects slightly from the main barn range. The front of the stable has two plain doors with timber lintels, one slatted door, and a further door set back on the level of the barn wall, above which is a section of boarded wall. The barn section to the right features quoins and a central gable with a loft door above a ground-floor door; it originally likely had steps leading up to the loft entrance. A small, two-light wooden mullion window is located to the right, and a small square window is to the left, both with timber lintels and shutters. The right-hand return wall has a coped verge and features a blind three-light stone mullion with a hoodmould, and a single-light pointed arch window, also with a hoodmould.
