The exterior features painted scored render on sandstone rubble and a slate roof. The building has a prominent gable chimney stack on the left and a smaller one on the right. It has a double-depth plan that includes a passage leading to the formerly enclosed Hemingway's Yard on the left side. The structure is two storeys tall with a low third storey beneath the eaves.
