Description
No. 6 Church Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It was built in the early 18th century and altered in the 19th century. The exterior features painted scored render on sandstone rubble and a slate roof. The building has a prominent gable chimney stack on the left and a smaller one on the right. It has a double-depth plan that includes a passage leading to the formerly enclosed Hemingway's Yard on the left side. The structure is two storeys tall with a low third storey beneath the eaves. The right side has an inserted shop front, which includes a glazed door and a window with two large lights. On the first floor, there are two small 4-pane sash windows, and the second floor features very small 4-pane fixed windows.
