Description
No. 43 High Street is a house that has been converted into a shop and dwelling, dating from the 18th century. The building features roughcast over rubble and has a slate roof with a brick stack at the rear. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with a two-window range. The windows include 8/8 sashes in moulded cases and 4/8 sashes above, with ashlar quoin-pilasters on the left side. The late 19th-century shopfront includes a four-fielded-panel door and a shop window to the left, which has turned glazing bars and is set beneath a moulded fascia board and hood supported by consoles on panelled pilasters. On the left side, there is a sliding sash window in an altered opening beneath a stone segmental arch on the ground floor.
