Description
22 and 24 Church Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the early 19th century and has been altered in the 20th century. The building is constructed from sandstone ashlar and features a slate roof. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high, likely over a cellar, with three bays. The ground floor contains two mid-20th century shop fronts with paired central doorways, but it is currently used as a single shop. The upper floors have windows with plain reveals and projecting sills. Most of these windows are sashed without glazing bars, except for the left-hand window on the second floor, which is a late 20th century casement. Inside, there is a dogleg staircase with stick balusters.
