Description

Burgh Hall Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from the early 17th century, with alterations probably made in the 18th century. The building features limewashed stone walls up to about 1 metre in height, with brick above, which may have replaced earlier timber walling. It has a roof made of stone slates, with some slates included, and a chimney on the ridge, along with a part-corbelled chimney at the right gable and another at the gable of the wing. The farmhouse has an L-shaped plan consisting of three bays and a one-bay wing at the front of the third bay.

It is two storeys tall, with a single-storey porch at the angle that has a hipped roof and a round-headed opening leading to a panelled door. To the left, there is one large three-light casement window on each floor, and to the right in the wing, there is one three-light sliding sash window above a window in the wing. There is a door at the left end, which is covered by the roof of a single-storey extension, along with two tall windows above and a blocked bull's eye window in the gable. At the right end, there is a high single-storey extension with two small attic windows above it. Inside, the stone base of the outer wall projects internally, and there are stop-chamfered beams throughout, as well as a staircase with splat balusters.
