Description
The stable block, likely built in the early 18th century, is situated within Duxbury Park. It is constructed of coursed sandstone with stone dressings, and has a hipped roof covered in stone slates. The rectangular building has a rectangular plan. It is two storeys high, with a plinth and a string course on the left and centre. The central bay is gabled, featuring kneelers, a clockface in the gable, and a restored bellcote with weathervane on the ridge. To the right are paired segmental-arched wagon doorways, each with a keystone. A doorway with stone jambs and lintel is located to the left of the centre bay, with another at the right end. A window with a chamfered case is at ground floor level in the centre bay; another window is located in the second bay. The first floor has three square window openings and two doors. Attached to the front of the first bay is a single-storey brick wagon house with paired segmental wagon doors and a hipped roof.
