Description
Cross Swords Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1845. It is built of dressed stone and features a stone slate roof with gable copings and gable chimneys. The building has a double pile, two bay plan and stands two storeys high. There is a large, slightly projecting rectangular doorcase with a cornice, which is offset slightly to the left of centre. Each floor has two windows, all with plain sills, jambs, and heads, though the glazing has been altered. In the centre of the first floor, there is a large shield with crossed swords, which is said to represent the arms of the Gillibrand family. The left side wall displays the date "1845" at the first floor level.
