Description
Gillibrand Hall is a large house built between 1807 and 1808, which has since been converted into a convent nursing home. The building is constructed of ashlar and features a low roof that is hidden by a parapet. It has a U-shaped plan with service wings that recede from the main structure. The house is two storeys high and showcases a severely restrained late Georgian style, characterized by a string course, a moulded cornice, and a parapet. The front facade is nine windows long and divided into three bays, with the central bay projecting forward and highlighted by a raised parapet that includes three square panels. The ground floor has been altered and is now concealed by a modern flat-roofed pavilion. On the right side of the building, there is a flat-roofed porch supported by slim Corinthian columns, which has a cornice; the sides of the porch are now glazed. The ground floor features two windows, while three windows are located above. The lower four-bay service wings extend to the rear of both side walls, and the rear of the building has also been altered. The interior has not been seen.
