Description
Mead Cottage, Bardsley Gate Farmhouse, and Bardsley Gate Cottage are three cottages that date back to the 18th century, with the left three bays added in the late 19th century. The buildings are constructed of squared rubble and hammer-dressed stone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof. They consist of a total of five bays and are two storeys high, featuring a double-depth layout with a lean-to against the left gable.
The original part of the building has a lower roofline and stone quoins, with a blocked door on the left and a 19th-century door on the right. This section has two bays and includes flat-faced stone mullion windows with three and four lights, which are recessed on the ground floor. A total of five mullions have been removed from these windows. The three-bay addition on the left has two doors, two three-light recessed flat-faced mullion windows in the first bay, and two similar windows with four lights in the second bay, each having one mullion removed. There is also a casement window above the door in the third bay. The cottages feature three ridge chimney stacks.
