Description
Lukes Fold Farmhouse is a house dated 1699, as indicated on the door lintel, but it has been significantly altered in the 18th century. It is constructed of squared rubble and hammer-dressed stone, with some parts being watershot, and features a graduated stone slate roof along with brick stacks, one of which is rendered. The building has a total of six bays and two storeys, including a two-storey porch wing and a 20th-century porch.
The first three bays have 20th-century bow and casement windows, with the porch located in bay two. The original porch wing has quoins and two two-light double-chamfered stone mullion windows with hoodmoulds, although the upper window has had its mullion removed. This wing is topped with a coped gable that includes kneelers. The dated lintel, which is now situated above a 20th-century bow window, is found on the right side of the house, which also features an arched window on the first floor. The farmhouse has one coped gable with kneelers and three ridge chimney stacks. The rear of the building contains three blocked window openings, one of which is an arched light, while the others are three-light double-chamfered mullion windows, along with a 20th-century bow window.
