Description
Nos. 113 and 115 on Mottram Old Road are two houses built in the 18th century and early 19th century. They are constructed from hammer-dressed and watershot stone, topped with a graduated stone slate roof and featuring brick chimney stacks. The houses are double-depth and three stories high, with No. 113 having two bays and No. 115 having three bays, although originally it was the other way around. There is a 20th-century lean-to garage on the left and a small two-story rear wing.
The entrance is located in the second bay, framed by a square-cut surround. The first bay has three recessed flat-faced mullion windows, each with two mullions removed. The second bay contains two 2-light windows, with one mullion removed, while the third bay has three 4-light windows, with a total of three mullions removed. Bays four and five were added in the 19th century and feature rusticated quoins and a rusticated door surround with a keystone. Bay four includes two sash windows, and bay five has three triple sash windows separated by a flat-faced stone mullion. The building has two gable chimney stacks and one ridge chimney stack, along with various two, three, and four-light mullion windows at the rear.
